Oahu Emergency REACT®  Rank Structure

Because Oahu Emergency REACT  works with government and private organizations of all types and sizes we utilize a standardized rank structure system that should be familiar and easily recognizable by our served agencies and the general public.

Probationary Member  -  Probationary Members wear solid black shoulder boards with no markings on them until their probationary requirements have been successfully completed. T-0

 

 

 

 

Team Member  Once a Probationary Member has successfully completed their probationary requirements and have been voted in as a Team Member they will wear black shoulder boards with one chevron. Their main responsibility is learning radio communication skills and to assist with furthering the mission of REACT. T-1

 

 

 

 

Corporal   -  Assists the Sergeant with training the new members of their team while they continue to learn radio communication skills and assist with furthering the mission of REACT. Reports directly to the Sergeant of their team. Corporals wear black shoulder boards with two chevrons. T-2

 

 

 

Sergeant Acts as a liaison between the officers and team members and should be a mentor to the members and a resource for advice. Assist the officers with oversight and training of the team members in their teams while they continue to hone their skills in radio communication and further the mission of REACT. Reports directly to their Lieutenant. Sergeants wear black shoulder boards with three chevrons. T-3

 

 

Sergeant-at-Arms The primary duty of a Sergeant-at-Arms is to assist the Chief in keeping order during meetings, and, if necessary, forcibly remove any members or guests who are overly rowdy or disruptive. A sergeant-at-arms may thus be a retired soldier, police officer, or other official with experience in security. The Sergeant-at-Arms wear black shoulder boards with three chevron and three rockers underneaths. T-4

 

 

Lieutenant A Lieutenant is responsible for training and oversight of a single team. Lieutenants will continue to hone their skills in radio communication and further the mission of REACT. Reports directly to their Captain. Lieutenants wear black shoulder boards with one silver bar  O-1

 

 

Captain A Captain is responsible for training and oversight of a two or more individual teams. Captains will continue to hone their skills in radio communication and further the mission of REACT. Reports directly to the Commander of their Zone. Captains wear black shoulder boards with two silver bars.  O-2

 

 

 

 

Commander Responsible for training and oversight os all teams in a Zone. Reports directly to the Deputy Chief of their District. Commander's wear black shoulder boards with one silver star.  O-3

 

 

 

 

Deputy Chief   -  Responsible for a District which consists of two adjacent Zones. Reports directly to the Assistant Chief and assists with oversight and training of the team. Deputy Chief's wears black shoulder boards with two silver stars.  O-4

 

 

 

 

Assistant Chief   -  Responsible for overseeing all Districts, Zones, and Teams. Reports directly to the Chief and assists with oversight and training of all members. The Assistant Chief wears black shoulder boards with three silver stars.  O-5

 

 

 

 

Chief Has overall responsibility and oversight of the entire team. The Chief wears black shoulder boards with four silver stars. The Chief reports directly to the Region 6 Director of REACT International.  O-6
